3 Places to Look for a Cheap Health Insurance
The cost of health insurance cover is going all the time. To many, health insurance seems simply unaffordable. Others feel that as they have never needed major medical attention and are healthy, they do not need health insurance. This attitude is completely off the rails. Health insurance is a must and getting affordable insurance for you and your family is not a pipe-dream. Taking out health insurance is like carrying an umbrella during the rainy season: if it does rain, you won’t get wet. Likewise with health insurance, when you have it, it can save you a lot.
1.Every state supports a Medicaid program designed to assist low-income people which you may qualify for. The requirements are not the same in all states, but access is available from the Division of Family Services in your area. There a lot of people who qualify to apply for this insurance option, but think they do not.
You will be required to provide your financial status through filling an application that will be provided. The program can cover a family’s entire health care needs: eye care, dental work, emergency care, doctors’ visits, prescriptions and more. If you have children and your employer does not provide health care, you may qualify for this program. It is very easy to enroll into the program and could make your life that much easier.
2.Another source of cheap health cover is the Internet. Check out the many companies that offer a host of health insurance options to find a cover that could meet your family’s needs and at a price you can afford. The costs, even for the same type of cover vary considerably, so research well before making a selection.
You need to check the credentials of the company as well: how long have they been in business and their reputation. Get quotes from as many sources as possible to increase your chances of good deals. Ensure that the company you select is licensed to operate in your state.
3.You also have the option of using insurance agents in your area. Look around for the agents and what they have on offer. There are many agencies who will work to get you the best deal possible for your circumstances. Even when the deal you get does not cover all the options you want, some form of cover is a good idea.
Check out advertisements for alternative health care and prescription card plans. You may find one that suits your needs to a T.
An affordable health insurance plan can be found if you look for it long and hard enough.

Health Insurance is a Necessity
Think you can live without health insurance? Think Again! Mary Levins was driving home from work one Saturday night when something happened that would change her life forever. As she turned onto another road she was met head-on with an eighteen wheeler – a stolen eighteen wheeler. The collision turned a beautiful convertible to a pile of worthless metal and nearly took Marys life.
Mary was lifted into an ambulance by paramedics and rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries. She suffered multiple fractures, third degree burns on her legs, and a punctured lung. As she faded in an out of consciousness, she could hear the doctor asking her husband if she had health care coverage. With many setbacks, her recovery took almost ten years. The huge financial burden placed on her family no doubt had added to her anxiety as she struggled to get her life back.
Mary had always been healthy and had rarely even visited a doctor, so she didn’t think she needed to spend the money on a health care policy. But an unplanned accident suddenly nearly destroyed her health and her financial situation at the same time. As she recovered over the next several years, she wished many times that she’d had the foresight to take out a health insurance policy.
Many people don’t think they can afford to buy health insurance, but the alternative is much more expensive when the stress and worries arrive when you need it and don’t have coverage. There’s a reason they call it insurance. Mary now is covered under a plan because she learned the hard way that you never know what can happen in an instant. She realized that if another accident happened, she’d be in the same situation all over again.
An interesting fact to note is that people have no qualms about paying to get full coverage insurance on their new car, but fail to spend a penny on themselves for basic health insurance coverage. Considering that cars can be replaced and people’s lives can’t, there is nothing that holds a higher value than health care coverage. It is not worth it to take the chance of being burdened with thousands of dollars of medical bills simply because you didn’t have a plan. Make yourself the most important person in your life. Go get some health insurance.

How to Find a Cheap Health Insurance Plan
With the recession causing even more unemployment, health insurance is becoming an increasing burden on family resources. Here are some resources and programs you should consider when trying to shave off some of the rising costs of health care:
1. Workers’ Compensation
Commonly known as Workers’ Comp, Workers’ Compensation is a program that helps pay for injuries that have been incurred on the job. So if you throw out your back lifting a bag at work, you may be entitled to free or reduced medical care with your state insurance health plan. Any permanent injury is often compensated with a small stipend until you reach retirement age. So if your treatment is the result of an on-the-job injury, your employer must offer to pay with your company’s Workers’ Compensation program.
2. Individual/Family Health Coverage
Most people assume that if their employer doesn’t supply insurance, it’s impossible to get insured. Individual/Family Health insurance plans, however, are another option. Just as you buy home or life or car insurance, you can go to a company and buy health insurance. While these are generally more expensive than group insurance plans, you can negotiate your deductible and pick and choose your policies to fit your budget. Choosing an emergency deductible policy is the best way to maintain a low cost health insurance plan. That way, you can keep a Health Savings Account for smaller health issues, and you ca keep down your long-term costs.
3. Short Term Health Insurance Coverage
If you are in between jobs, Short term health insurance coverage is a great way to maintain coverage while waiting for a new job to start. To do this, purchase insurance from a private company (similar to an individual health plan), but only stipulate a small amount of time. This will keep your premium low.
4. Group Insurance from Private Organizations
America isn’t really a country that revels in the culture of private clubs and organizations. It’s a shame, because a lot of groups offer discounted health care for their members. Just like with an employer membership, an organization uses its large numbers to negotiate better deals for its members. If you are a member of the Northwestern University Alumni Association, you can get a variety of cheap insurance choices. It’s also possible to research what organizations have the best insurance programs and then join.
No matter what you decide, make sure the plan has the level of coverage you want, and don’t skimp on programs you’ll need for prices you want.

What’s up with McCain and Palin’s health insurance plan? Will the deregulation increase our taxes?
According to this story, it’s basically going to deregulate the health insurance industry (by allowing cross-state insurance that can ignore state laws), and increase the costs on everyone by taxing your health insurance benefits. What’s the true story?

Why would a 2 year old be denied health insurance?
for being too skinny. Or a 4 month old be denied health insurance for being "overweight".
Is this part of the republican plan to "Die Quickly"???
