Is arthri-d is suppose to be a joint pain and healing natural supplement and is it?

is there a website and does this arthritis natural pill work?

This is just another of the many scam products out there. They all have the connection that their product name has some kind of mutated-adjective type connection with the complaint they’re purported to treat. Check the question below yours for a question about "Xtend" (do I need to tell you what that is claimed to do?)

Adding New Vitamins and Supplements to Your Regimen? What to Consider

When introducing a new vitamin or supplement into your daily regimen, it is always a good idea to read the label carefully, talk with your doctor, and do your homework about what it is you are taking. This is a good guideline even if you have been leading a healthy life for years and would consider yourself a savvy supplement-taker.

The labels of vitamins and supplements can be confusing to the average consumer. In some cases, rather than being labeled in common measurements that we are all familiar with, certain vitamins and supplements are measured in milligrams or even micrograms.  Ask your health care provider any questions you may have, and conduct your own research to ensure that everything checks out.

Many people who are just getting started on a supplement routine or regimen do not have a clear idea about how best to take vitamins and supplements. In many cases, it can come down to the time of day, or whether or not you have an empty stomach. Some vitamins and supplements utilized for building muscle are recommended to be taken a certain amount of time before a workout. Information such as this can help an individual to maximize the effectiveness of the specific supplement or vitamin in question. Regardless of the addition to your regimen, it is still important that you do your homework and find out if a particular vitamin or supplement is right for you.

Take some time to learn whether or not the vitamin or supplement you are considering can interact with other substances in your system. Some specifications will be apparent on the labels themselves, but some others may not. Take yourself on a little fact finding mission to learn all that you can.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women and those about to have surgical procedures performed should do some extra research. If you are pregnant or nursing, be especially careful about what you take.  A good rule of thumb is to rule out any vitamins and supplements until your doctor says “okay”.  What you consume can pass directly through breast milk to your baby if you are nursing, and can pass through your bloodstream to your baby if you are pregnant. Also, if you are about to undergo surgery, take as many precautions as possible as far as what you ingest prior to the procedure. While this may seem obvious to some, it is important to take any necessary steps to ensuring overall safety.

The rapid increase in knowledge about the many benefits of vitamins and supplements is exciting. Hopefully, as the public becomes more informed about how certain vitamins and supplements can improve life, more individuals will alter their lifestyle and become committed to proper nutrition. Regular exercise and changes in eating habits are also major components to becoming healthier. However, if those lifestyle changes can be achieved, adding the proper vitamins and supplements to your regimen can put yourself in an even better position to living a happy and healthy life. As long as you take the time to ask questions and do a bit of homework yourself, you should be on the right track to improving your overall health by adding the best vitamins and supplements for you to your daily regimen.

The Difference Between Generic and Branded Drugs

Before trying to draw out the differences between generics and brand-name drugs, we must first of all give a clear definition of a generic drug.

The active ingredient of “Generic” medication (for example, of “generic phentermine”, which is adipex) is chemically identical to the active ingredient of the correspondent medication. According to the FDA’s office Generic drugs “a generic drug is identical, or bioequivalent to a brand name drug in dosage form, safety, strength, route of administration, quality, performance characteristics and intended use”.

Generic drugs are chemically identical to their branded counterparts, they are sold at substantial discounts from the branded price. According to reliable sources, generic drugs save consumers an estimated 8 to 10 billions USD a year at retail pharmacies. Even more billions are saved when hospitals use generic drugs. Because generic drugs are often much cheaper than their branded counterparts, many people choose generics whether buying drugs online or in traditional retail outlets and many insurance companies actually require that they be used.

However, it should be noted that current regulations permit a variation of approximately 20% either way in the bioavailability of the active ingredient. This does not necessary mean that buying generic drugs in preference to branded counterparts is a bad idea. In fact, in most cases, it’s probably still a very good idea.

Advantages of buying prescription drugs online

In the health sector, internet permits individuals to obtain extensive medical information, to help them understand health issues and treatment options. Millions of people all around the world used internet year to find medical information. The sale of most consumer products over internet has grown rapidly in recent years, including the sale of prescriptions drugs. Purchasing prescription drugs online can provide tremendous benefits to consumers. These benefits are many and include:
- Access to prescription drugs for the disabled or otherwise homebound, for whom a trip to the pharmacy can be difficult;
- The convenience of shopping 24 hours a day;
- Wide selection of prescription drugs;
- Privacy for those who do not want to discuss their medical needs in a public place;
- Lower costs, as well as convenience, if the purchase is made from a reputable site.

FDA is aware that many reputable internet pharmacies provide consumers seeking prescription drugs with a measure of safety, privacy and convenience. They can provide detailed information on drug interactions, and may e-mail customers if the drug they ordered has been recalled, a cheaper generic version of the drug becomes available or to remind them on prescription renewals. Hyperlinks and search programs provide online customers with written product information and references to other sources of health information more easily than traditional stores.

Finally, consumers must have confidence that safeguards for online customers are at least as protective as those at traditional pharmacies.

What are good supplements to increase energy?

What are good supplements to increase energy without increasing blood pressure? My doctor told me that Ginko Biloba is a good supplement. Are there any others that work well without increasing blood pressure, especially for seasonal affective disorder?

B-Vitamins are good for energy and don’t increase BP.

Do Drug Companies put side effects into their drugs on purpose to create demand for other drugs?

Also, Chris Rock made a good point. Drug Companies never research a cure for a disease, which doesn’t make money, they only treatment.

Considering all these ridiculous side effects for many of the prescription drugs, maybe they’re putting additives and side-effects into their drugs on purpose to generate demand for other drugs to treat those side-effects.

being a fan of many conspiracy theories involving giant corporations… this is one that has been proven over and over again however is not really publicized because lets face it, the truth hurts. Chris Rock is right, and the whole idea behind anarchy is – what is anybody gonna do about it? You’re talking about changing the status quo which is an oxy moronic contradiction. Unless you have power and money, you can’t change much of anything on your side of the spectrum. Anyways, to make a long story short, watch the movie Sicko by Michael Moore, you’ll see how corrupt it gets.

with changes in health insurance laws will my under 26 year old children be covered?

I am hearing on the news that 26 year olds should now be covered under parents plans regardless of being in school or not. However, a friend told me that this does not apply if the coverage is "self insured" but only if fully funded. Our insurance is with Cigna, but it is with my husbands employer and have been told that is "self insured". So will my 22 year old who is not in school be covered or not? He has been covered until now because he was in school, but not going this term or next.

Disclaimer: I have NOT read the entire plan.

But the parts I’ve read, I haven’t seen a differentiation between a "qualified self insured" plan, and a "qualified group insurance" plan.

You will need to call Cigna and ask – but I strongly suspect you can add him during open enrollment if he’s already been dropped.

Build Massive Muscles with the Help of Bodybuilding Supplements

There are a lot of controversial arguments that have come to the forefront of building muscle supplements in recent years. There have been intense arguments on both sides for those that are strong advocates of the usage and those who are completely against it. Upon further examination into the accounts of consumers that don’t benefit from bodybuilding supplements are discovered to be those that don’t follow a strict fitness schedule. To be perfectly clear, bodybuilding muscle supplements cannot be effective independent from vigorous exercise and a well balanced diet.

The ease and convenience of bodybuilding supplements are among the aspects that make this line of supplements so popular. The fact is that bodybuilding and strength training experts agree that an optimal environment can be achieved by having six meals a day. That is problem number one that is encountered by consumers of bodybuilding muscle supplements. bodybuilding supplements are often used as a meal replacement for those odd meals that can’t be fed adequately with traditional food. Not many people in today’s society are afforded the luxury of preparing six well balanced meals a day. Most bodybuilders report having three square meals a day and using bodybuilding muscle supplements for the other three meals

The controversy arises with bodybuilding supplements because many professional weight and strength trainers agree that there is no need for such supplements. Some of these products that are not considered acceptable to these trainers are items such as creatine or other muscle enhancing supplements. The principle argument behind not using bodybuilding muscle supplements is that bodybuilding was around long before supplements were every invented. Many bodybuilders had an awesome form and well defined muscles. This supports the claims that bodybuilding supplements are not at all necessary to strengthen muscles or increase endurance. In technical terms, these fitness experts are correct in saying that bodybuilding muscle supplements aren’t necessary. The imperative factor that isn’t calculated into this equation is that of the monumental lifestyle changes of society in recent history.

The changes in recent society have not been for the positive unfortunately. There are detrimental changes to the human diet that bodybuilding supplements more than make up for when added to the diet. Our food is grown in soil that seriously lacks nutrients and it is over processed to the point of losing most if not all of its original nutritional value. Face it. In this modern age of fast food and take out, it is increasingly more difficult to ensure all aspects of the diet are being met.

Bodybuilding muscle supplements provide the consumer with the nutrients required to maintain optimal health. This isn’t the only great advantage to taking bodybuilding supplements though. The best thing is that it provides the muscles with the nourishment needed to produce longer more intense strength training in order to build muscles. Realize today what your needs are to boost your bodybuilding experience. Feel the personal difference bodybuilding supplements provide in training sessions!

Defective Drugs – Better Quality of Life or Lies?

We trust our physicians to prescribe us with only the best medications; ones that will cause little to no ill side effects and help us recover in a timely fashion. However, often due to no fault of our doctors, even FDA approved medications are found to be defective, resulting in personal injury and the wrongful death of its victims.

Defective drugs cause the death of thousands each year and the serious injury of close to half a million. Manufacturers claim to spend large amounts of money to test these drugs, so how do they make it onto the marketplace? The answer is sometimes negligence and sometimes deliberate deception on the part of the behemoth pharmaceutical companies:

· A drug is not thoroughly tested

· Unsuspected side effects occur

· Test results are overlooked

· Test results are concealed

· Important questions are not asked, sometimes deliberately

· Prescribed for the wrong reasons

What Drug Categories Are Defective?

Drugs are designed to aid us in recovery or allow us to lead healthier lives, but there are defective drugs found in every drug category.

· Erectile dysfunction drugs such as Viagra have been found to cause a drop in blood pressure and NAION, which is a loss of vision

· Diet drugs often cause more harm than good in countless ways

· Hormone drugs cause tragic complications such as stroke, blood clots and death

· Anti-depressants such as Paxil have been linked to an increase in suicide and birth defects

· Pain killers like OxyContin are highly addictive and subject to abuse

This is not to say that every drug in every category is defective though. But you should give great consideration to possible risks and unforeseen side effects before taking a new prescription drug that will supposedly better your quality of life.

Recent Drug Recalls

While you are eligible for compensation for past defective drugs, it’s the most recent recalls that should signal an alarm bell if you or a loved one had been prescribed to them.

Some recent drug recalls are:

· Heparin–improper labeling and defective manufacturing procedures led to dozens of injuries and deaths as a result of this blood thinner

· Digitek–insufficient quality control led to pills being released with twice the effective dose of this heart arrhythmia medication

· Trasylol–an anti-hemorrhagic drug, this medication is highly toxic to the liver and may have led to as many as 1000 deaths a month at the height of its popularity

· Vioxx – The biggest recall in recent memory was due to Vioxx. Designed to treat acute and chronic pain, arthritis sufferers raved about its benefits. In the years following its approval in 1999, studies found that Vioxx increased the risk of heart attack and stroke

· Fen-phen – A diet drug also known as Redux or Pondimin, Fen-phen was recalled in 1997 due to an increased risk of developing PPH, which can lead to higher blood pressure and heart failure

· Rezulin – An anti-inflammatory that has been found to cause hepatitis

· Baycol – 52 fatal cases of renal failure have been linked to Baycol, which was used to lower cholesterol

· Phenylpropanolamine – An appetite suppressant that has caused strokes and is used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine

Have You Been The Victim of Defective Drugs?

It’s a tragedy that even with oversight from the FDA that defective prescription drugs still leak through and seriously harm or kill its victims.
